I've finally gotten around to doing some research on my truck. A while ago I picked up a 3.73 limited slip rear (disk brakes) for it and hooked it up to a T-5 tranny that I got for not too much money. Driving the truck was enjoyable, but I never got out on the road to really push it.
Yesterday I finally found a place on the web that told me exactly what gearing I have in the tranny.
T-5 gear ratios Turns out my T-5 is from a 83 Firebird V6 2.8L car. The gears are 3.50, 2.14, 1.39, 1.1, 0.78.
So, I went to one of the online RPM calculators and figured out that my top speed at 3000RPM was 46MPH???? Another one said it was 71MPH.
Anybody know of a site that accurately determines speed based upon rpms and gearing?
