There were a few slightly different axle housings that shared most of the same parts for the carrier itself. Some had different axle shafts and side gears but most of the time the carrier and ring and pinion gears were the same with the exception of Timken and other brand rear ends plus 2 speeds.
BE SURE to measure the backlash of the ring and pinion gears before tearing it apart. If the tolerances are reset back to stock those gears will whine and wear fast.
