Make sure you didn't burn the points together. A 57 235 uses a different distributor, bigger cap and rotor and the length from where it mounts to the tang that runs the oil pump is different. It can be modified to fit but if you were to do that you might as well look an an HEI system from a later vehicle or put in a 235 | | |
