yes, you probably have a broken wire or bad connection - you could track the headlight wires from the switch onward with an ohm-meter .... I'd also replace that totally incorrect light switch so you have all the proper connections as per the factory wiring diagram, although it looks like you don't have properly color coded wiring, which would make troubleshooting MUCH easier
