For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 9 Member | | Member Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 9 | I have a '53 Chev with an old splash lube 216. I ran across someone with a 1979 Chev 1/2 ton pickup with a straight 6 engine coupled to a 4 sp manual tranny. I'm assuming this is a pressure lube 235. I have 3 probably difficult to answer questions:
1) How do I confirm that this is in fact a 235 in the '79?
2) What is involved in making this 235 fit in the '53?
3) Will the original tranny still work with the 235?
Thanks in advance for all responses, Keith | | |
