Roller bearings? The Oldsmobile and Cadillac 45-amp generators had ball bearings on both ends, and a long housing with a step-down about 3 inches from the back end. Try looking up parts for an early-1960's Olds 98 generator or one for a Cadillac Fleetwood of about the same vintage. I think the last year for generators for those cars was 1961 or 62.
