For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 59 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2010 Posts: 59 | On my truck (53 3800) Im trying to figure out what type of generator it has on it. Everything thing is 12V including headlights and regulator. Im wanting to go through it and put new bearings and brushes.. everything esle looks pretty good. I see there is what looks to be a casting number on the armature and maybe a 3 digit number on both ends. It has the roller bearing in the rear cap which makes me think it is a heavy duty model?? It has no tags on it. Can anyone help me with this? Would like to check for shorts and get a rebuild kit but im not sure about the model number or type of generator it is.
Thanks!!
Daniel
