hello i have a 53 chevy wagon 235 three on the tree. took manafold off and had to disconnect 2nd and trd gear shifting arm on top. when i went to put it back together everything went south on me. the shifter inside gos all the way up and to the left and will not go past netural.opened up shifter box on steering col. and not sure what to look for? one of my questions is the bolts on the bottom of shifter box do they need to be loosened to move shifter box and levers up to get the right clearance at shifting lever and bottom of steering wheel? 2 and 3/4 inchs i think? any suggestions on what i might have did wrong or what i can do to correct it. ive read and reread instructions in manual and cant seem to get it. thanks ted
