Here is a question that was recieved at StoveBolt HQ and passed over to my desk.

Hey HotRod Lincoln - this one's for you and others too.

Hi,
I'm wondering if there are any special instructions to install the "slinger", or "wick" on the 216 Chevy. We installed a FelPro BS5048, but we feel it is too thin. It goes in to the groove like paper. We don't need to tuck it in or anything and by the way, this is the second seal we will be installing. It is a real headache. It was leaking like crazy. We have talked to alot of people on this engine, but no one seems to remember or know that the crankshaft has a groove on the end of the crank, that goes into the main cap were the slinger is.Plus that groove is kind of squared, this is the first time we rebuild a 37 Chevy 216, we've done 235. Can you give me any advice??
