First off, a Chevrolet valve cover WILL NOT fit a GMC, so the engine's been swapped for the Chev motor, which is very common. Look for the casting numbers, should be on the passenger side of the motor around the fuel pump, that number should be easily found on this site or go over to inliners.org and search their engine numbers.
