For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 30 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2009 Posts: 30 | I have a 1952 Chevy panel truck with a G80 axle that is 54.25 inches flange to flange. This is 4 inches less than the original axle. There is no room for the shocks which should be on the outside of the springs, because the wheels/tires overlap the axle by 2 inches. I was thinking of changing the wheels to 15x8 with 2.5 inch backspacing. This would be a -63mm offset. Or, should I use 2” wheel spacers? The tires are P255/70R15.
