I just took the hood release cable out of a 79 Buick and tied it into the original latch mechanism with a drilled hole. I also drilled a second hole for a return spring but it probably wasn't needed. My plan is to cut the portion of the old latch off below the holes but just haven't got around to it yet. I can shoot some pics this evening if needed.
