| | | | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 | You don't have to run a hydraulic throw-out bearing or hydraulic activated clutch. If you're going to use an old stock manual bell housing, why not use the stock fork, diaphram pressure plate with your stock flywheel, a long throwout bearing and a clutch disc from an 83-84 2.8L Firebird. It takes a little fabricating on the bell-crank assembly but with a mechanical setup you save having to bolt the master/slave cylinders or buying a pricey hydraulic bearing. I've got 14K on my mechanical setup with no issues.....clutch action is as smooth as butter. Check out pics in my webshots Chevy albums.
