That was probably the right move. I went with the aftermarket thing simply because it was my cheapest option at the time, and I needed to be able to use the window (mine's my daily driver). It works well enough to get by, but I am definitely planning to do it better when I get back around to working on that door. Either with a whole new regulator, or something like what you did using a donor.
