That question has appeared many times and the concensus is that plain old chassi grease is a good bet for old steering boxes, especially ones that leak a little. Flushing with keresene or parts cleaner is the only way I know of to "clean" one out. The fancy high end lubricants won't do anything more except lighten your wallet. There are tons of us Tri-Five guys using grease.
