What year truck are we working with, and is the electric system original? The only system I'm aware of other than the internal-regulated 10SI alternator is the 4-wire system shown in the diagram. The 3-wire regulator in the illustration is for a generator, not an alternator.

It is a 1962 C60 with a 327. It appears to have the original screw down terminal connections, but the VR looks awfully new. I am still tracing down wires to see if it is 4 wire system that has been hosed up.
