Sounds about right. Alter the ring gabs by 1/3 so they don't line up with one another. I dip the piston and rings in a bucket of oil before installing. Its messy but I like to be sure I have lubed everything well. How long before start up? Use white motor grease if its going to be a while. Motor oil will all run off before starting.
