Your information and observations are quite interesting. The tank in the Picasa album looks thinner and taller than the tank shown in the 1946 USA Chevrolet Truck Data Book. Also, the label on the TDB tank is white with dark lettering. The lettering on the Picasa-album tank looks like it was stencil-painted (as if it might have been a military issue)?
