I believe the entire rear axle assembly (housing, axles & carrier/center section)for 3/4 & 1 ton is the same from 47-72. Ho52 designation for 3/4 ton, Ho72 for 1 ton. the only difference between Ho52 & 72 is the backing plates & brakes. Later model ring & pinions will fit in an earlier carrier.
