i don't mess with automatics much but i have pulled several. i would do them seperatly. pull the engine first. unbolt the engine from the trans on the outside, take the pan off the bottom and unbolt the flexplate frome torque converter. you'll have to turn engine to take one bolt at a time. take engine out as normal then trans. if you leave the converter in the trans you won't crack it. you could do it together prob but a lot heavier and a heck of a angle. i have had trans hang up on crosmembers. good luck. usually you mark it to make sure it goes back the same but if you are changing the plate i guess not. hr
