I finally found an overdrive trans to put in my stock 56 pick up. It came from a 55-56-57 car. My truck did not come with overdrive originally.I don't have all the hardware to make it like stock, but don't really care. I just want it to work. Can I wire the trans locking the overdrive in the "on" position all the time and put a switch in the 12V power to the solinoid for use to engage the OD? Will this work? Is there a better way?
