Here's another thought: I think part of the fun of driving an old truck is the harsh ride, stiff steering, rattles, noise, etc. Now: I confess, I've gone the MII, power steering, AC, etc. route in the past, but what you wind up with is a truck that feels and drives like a new truck, wrapped up in old skin. And your wallet is thousands of $$ lighter. I've got a 90's GMC to drive if I want that kind of ride. I know this is all a matter of personal choice, but I'm sticking to my I-beam axle, stick tranny, 6-banger, drum brakes. To me, it's what makes driving one of these old trucks fun!
