First you have to use alot of dish soap I mix some in a plastic cup about 1/3 soap to water and I use a paint brush about 1 inch wide to keep the rubber wet.

Than take the rubber locking strip and slide it into the tool,handle should be at the short end of the strip so you can push down and push thru the rubber at the same time, make sure it's the right side out,wet down the bottom of the window rubber, push the tool down into the rubber and turn it up and down untill the lip of the rubber comes over the tool and the locking strip. if you're right handed push the tool to the right with you're left hand,and at the same time push the locking strip into the tool and the rubber with you're right hand ,and keep it wet,I had my wife do the brushing as I went along it's not easy but once you get it started it goes better.My Wife also keep the long end of the locking strip feeding it into my right hand.
