I have two 1953 canadian gmc which have the chev 216 engine.One truck runs but is rusty the other truck has good sheet metal.I was just given a complete american gmc chassis with a 248 and a three speed.The 248 is a standard bore,but needs a rebore,and a crank grind.I have not pulled the 302 apart yet,but I am leaning towards the 302,I am old school I believe big is better.I was considering a small four barrel carb,and using the 248 distributor with vacuum advance.
I am an engine machinist for detroit diesel canada,although I apprenticed as an auto mechanic.
