All passenger car 235 engine from 1956 and onwards had hydraulic lifters.
I got that, but is that what they meant when they said mine was a passenger? I wasn't sure if they meant "passenger year 1959" or "1959 passenger CAR motor"
F302B = Flint - March 02nd - 235/powerglide
The "B" = regular engine with powerglide transmission.
B is for passenger
only .
I guess what is confusing is that you
indicated the engine was from a 1959 truck.
Truck engine serial # usually had the letter "J" and higher.
Based on the block casting date and the engine serial #
your engine was orginally from a 1959 Passenger car.
Check your lifters, should be hydraulic.
