The original engine would have been a 216, replaced with a 1958 235. Correct on the tune up parts, also on the internals parts, is your engine solid lifter or hydraulic lifters? As for the truck, if its all stock then you buy parts for a 1949 3100.
I have no idea if my engine is hydraulic or mechanical lifter, haven't torn into it and hope I don't have to any time soon. That's what I was confused on by running the numbers we determined it was cast in 58 but assembled in 59 so it would be a 59 motor, but I don't know if its a 59 CAR motor or a 59 TRUCK motor...
