I bought one of these
Universal sender from Yogi's Streetrod parts. It works great with my home made tank and original 6 volt gauge. They also have a good selection of tank parts and fittings.
Most of the senders are all five hole mount. The five holes are not evenly spaced so you need to know where the float will go. It should swing to the side and not front to back. Also need to know left or right as some of the senders are fixed. The one above was totally adjustable.
Don't forget to add some bulkheads or baffles in the tank. They will keep fuel from splashing around and let the sender read accurate. When adding the vent hole or tube, make sure it is in the highest end. Mine was not, and fuel would run out if the service station was not level. I ended up with 3 feet of 3/16" steel line tightly coiled up to the under side of the bed and a drain hose off the end of the coil. Joe
