Hey Gramps,

I did add some tractor hydraulic fluid "New Holland" spec. from NAPA, and I raised body up added half qt., left the filler plug out and slowly dropped body, had a little over flow...raised the body and install plug....Now I'm reading the maintenance insructions...and that is there spec.

Spec. fluid is "Mobiloil Arctic, a Socony-Vacuum product, is recommened as an all year medium." Good luck finding that!

I scaned a copy of Lubrication Diagram & Maintenance Instructions for you. Should I send by PM ?

My Grandfather had a '54 6400/6500 flatbed on the farm...like new condition and always garaged until harvest time. He used the 1940 as everyday truck in the fields. Thats why my love for these trucks...and John Deere B's. I spent my summers on the farm and hated to come back to CT to start school.
