I have a 1957 Chevy truck that I am getting close to the paint stage. My preference is a stock looking truck, but subtle period correct modifications do appeal to me. I was thinking about putting Buick portholes (four to a side, probably 55 or 56 vintage)on the sides of the hood. Has anyone seen this before? Does it look subtly "kool", or does it come across as clumsy. The real ones are fairly expensive, but it may be a nice touch (or just ugly). I'd be interested in opinions as well as impressions of actual installations. I promise I won't do the stick-on type.
