The stamping would only been in the rectangular box at the bottom of the plate. The plate in the first post is an after-market plate. Jim Carter states that the 1950 (47-50) plates were originally screwed-on with clutch-head screws. Tim 1954Advance-Design.com 1954 3106 Carryall Suburban 1954 3104 5-window pickup w/Hydra-Matic The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" -- this is a splash oiler.
