You exhaust is going to get the intake too hot regardless of how many carbs or what carb model you have. The truck will run with or without but not with optimum performance or fuel economy. As mentioned, your carb can freeze on a 100 degree day. Check Tom Langdon's site and read the tech article about heat and why it is needed.
