Hy Village_Idiot and guys, there should be lots of room to move the flywheel .015" away from the crankshaft flange, when I install a torque converter, I put as many flat washers as I can between the flywheel and torque converter, as long as some clearance remains there is no problem, and you get maximum pump drive engagement. This trick was passed on to me by a transmission rebuilder, hope that helps.
