Denny, we have been running aluminum radiators with plastic tanks on our 18 wheelers around 20 years. I don't recall ever having a core failure. Occasionally the tanks crack, but they have clamped on tanks and we made a jig to replace them. We just don't use radiator shops any more except for my old jalopies, tractors and forklifts.
