For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 118 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 118 | I did a compresion test on my 283 today. the front six looked pretty good. they all hit 140+ and worked there way up a little higher. Number 7 started at 130 and worke up to about 150. Number 8 started at about 90 and worked up to about 125. I put a couple of shots of oil in the number 8 and did not get a change. I did do the test with the engine cold because I have the carb off and Im waiting on some parts but I wanted to change out the plugs and get ir ready while I was waiting. should I be concerned. I don't put alot of miles on it so I was planing to run her till she wouldn't run any more but I need it to run ok in the process. | | |
