Thx. guys. Now we really have mess. Both replies say 3835909/5499 heads will work. But, all my research has found 3692703 to be a block for a 50-51, 235 passenger(car) powerglide engine. At least according to Inerliners. The block is drilled for hyd.lifters and that what it always had. But Inerliners also says 3835499 head is for a 216 engine. The 50-52, 235 did come with solid lifters. The 235 was an option for the 1 1/2t and oem for the 2t.
