Dear 1949chevy3800 I have just about finished restoring my 1953 1 ton and I powder coated the original wheels. They have the split ring on the outside and Les Schawb mounted me some new 750 by 17 inch tires with no problem. I've owned many trucks that have had thisw type of wheel and never had trouble getting them repaired. Funton
