Did you use anti sieze on your plugs? If any gets on the electrod of the plug it can cause a short or weak spark. As atomarc stated pulling the plug wire from the spark plug allows the voltage to build until it jumps the artificial gap, then fires through the plug. Something is causing a weak spark.
