46 with a stock 216...stock guage....
I installed a "new" temp gauge..rebuilt stock unit from one of the parts suppliers.. I ran the truck up to operating temp, first run with new radiator, hoses, etc...problem is, the temp gauge never came off cold. The rad was warm..thermostat is opening, closing. Yes..it is cold here now..but it should have registered something...
Anything special you have to do to get a temp gauge to work? The old one worked fine until I broke the face.
No tape or anything used at the block, so nothing should be interfering with temp transfer...
