hello 54 dd, just checked out the brake and clutch bellcrank on my 55 first series. i think it should be the same as your 54. my brake bell crank does not look like the one in your pictures. mine has the large diameter end of the bellcrank facing inboard to accomodate the clip on the end of the shaft. the tab that the brake push rod attaches to on mine is nearly perpendicular to the bellcrank arm that attaches to the brake pedal arched rod. that tab is also much shorter than the one in your pictures,less than 2 in. in length. and finally ,the pivot shaft on mine is about 3 1/2 in. long. my guess would be that the bellcrank you have is the wrong one. hpe this helps garyg.
