I just measured my cluthc / brake pivot shaft.
It's 6 1/2" from the outside of the fraim rail, thru the mounting bracket to the end with the c clip.
It's 3 1/4" from the bracket to the c clip.
It does sound like some one modified your brake pedal pivot, so you may need to find an origanal set of pedals, I got a replacement set from a guy in Renton. His email was

I've got the CCP booster kit & with the intermediate pivot point on the brake linkage, plus the overall design my m/c is now under the seat. I'm not really impressed with the kit & may try to design something else. Good luck & keep us posted.
