No, I din't miss spell that again, since these tires were mfg in Ballymena, Ireland I thought it appropriate to label it that way. But to the question; I’m sure Bill has an answer for this one. Pryor to 2000 the DOT date codes supposedly were three digits numbers and after 2000 the were four, zat sound correct?
For the past week I've been taking inventory of my newly acquired '54, 3600 truck. The tires are brand new (looking) Hercules Super Express II 7.00-15LT (6 ply rated) 4 Nylon Cord Plies (whoopee). So why does the DOT UPNV HJ3497 stamp appear on the inside of the side wall??? Obviously the code means 34th week of 1997 but why does it have four digits in the code instead of three???
