#68232 11/07/2006 5:32 PM | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 2,733 | It is my understanding that in 55' as before the full pressure 235's that were assembled w/ PG trannys were the only ones that had the oil galleys drilled for the hydraulic lifters. In 58' all engines were drilled for hydraulics. Therefore if your 55' had a standard tansmission as most did then you should continue the cam and lifters that it came with. I would point out however that in no circumstance should you put lifters from another engine with another cam. Lifters and cams should be replaced as a set. | | |
