I've made a pulling adapter by drilling a hole in a short piece of 1 inch diameter round stock just big enough to slip over the tube, and then slotting it with a hacksaw. Slip it over the tube, then grab it tightly with vise grips and use a hammer to tap it out of the block. Works well, and doesn't damage the tube!
