#67473 10/21/2006 2:42 AM | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | Used Toyvo's method many times and then one day a light bulb went off in the old brain (caused a 3 day headache) and I went to the spring U-bolt bin where there were LONG nuts from U-bolts in 1/2, 9/16, and 5/8 fine thread. This covers most steering shaft sizes and protects the threads better than the thin steering shaft nut. Even got cocky on the 1/2" threaded shafts and used a fancy chrome acorn lug nut. Finally picked up enough aluminum cans from the roadside to buy a puller.
