But even from pictures a 1 ton rear looks like a 3/4 ton, only difference would be brakes, and or dual wheels in many cases.

That is the funny thing. I have a 551st that is a 3/4 it has maybe 10 springs on back, unsure exact number. This "1 ton" has about 10 big springs and than about 5 springs ontop of that in a double set of springs aragement. It does have duals with bigger brakes than my 3/4. I am not sure that the rear end is even from a Chevy. I think it is because of the brakes but not positive. I will try to get pictures to put on this site soon.
