First question is why are you welding them? They were originally riveted to the frame at these locations why not bolt them back in the original location with a high quality fastener? I think you are asking for future problems welding them in place. If it is the actual cab pieces and not the frame pieces you should be able to locate them from the replaced sections? There is a dimple in the floor correct? Pictures of exactly what you are talking about would help a ton with the diagnosis.
