You could just un hook the fuel line at the carb and see if the pump is working.
The glass bowl is just a strainer/seperator really.
It doesn't have a sintered bronze filter inside the carb inlet does it?
It doesn't take much to plug those.
Maybe the float is stuck in the full position and isn't allowing any more fuel in.
