Like andy says, remove the fuel line from the carb & crank the engine. A strong squirt of gas should come out. If so check your float & needle valve. Some Carters have a tiny screen in the needle valve that can get plugged up. If there is gas in the bowl but the accel. won't squirt you have something wrong with the accel. pump.
