In '53 the trucks used a front mount, cars used side mounts. Any later 235 (you'll want to get a '54 or later or a '53 powerglide motor for full-pressure oiling) can be converted to front mount as the engine plates are interchangable. You'll use the original 216 bell housing, flywheel, and starter (even if you're upgrading to 12V).
