get your hands on some plastic called UHMW or nylatron. Have it machined the same size round as your hanger was original. Drill for your pin size and install. It is strong enough to bridge the egg shape and will wear better than iron. And it is self lubricating. My 54 was really bad, it has been 10 years and is still working great. I have used UHMW in 20000 lbs forklift king pins for years for bushings. It is amazing.
